Dance accompanies the person from the most extreme antiquity, and for all this time many interesting expressions about dance from the most eminent people collected. Some aphorisms were said in the playful form, some – is absolutely serious, but actually all of them get directly to a point and confirm that huge role which dance plays human lives.

It would be desirable to begin with Bernard Shaw known expression «Dance – vertical expression of horizontal desires». «Day passed in vain if I did not dance» – this phrase belongs to Nietzsche. National proverbs Are expressions which attribute to the whole people, and they say about how dance in life of it of the country is important. Here Chinese proverb: «It is possible to judge the king how citizens dance at his power». The African proverb urges all to dance: «If you are able to speak, you are able to sing; and if you are able to go, you are able to dance». Russian national proverbs often eulogize the mass dancings connected with festivities: «Dance in three feet»; «Looking at beer, and it is well to dance». Agree, these expressions as well as possible express character of Russian people.

To end our today’s selection it would be desirable the phrase of known dancer Maiya Plisetskaya: «I wish to dance till 100 years. But if to be lazy, and more than forty you will not stretch. Dance and remember that the tantsevaniye should bring satisfaction and pleasure if it is not present, it already physical culture.
